Panerai has introduced its latest timepiece, the Radiomir 8 Giorni Eilean Experience Edition PAM0164, as part of its Experiences Programme. Panerai’s watches have always had a deep connection to the sea, originally designed for Italian Navy frogmen just before WWII. These durable Radiomir watches not only kept track of covert underwater operations and detonations but also illuminated dark waters with their radium-based luminous paint. The brand’s nautical legacy continues with the acquisition of the Eilean, a 1936 Bermudian ketch, which was meticulously restored.
The new Radiomir 8 Giorni Eilean (ref. PAM01643) is a limited edition of only 30 pieces. It incorporates bronze elements sourced from the renowned Eilean yacht, including the bezel, crown, and caseback medallion, all crafted from bronze recovered during the yacht’s restoration. This bronze, made from copper and 8% tin, is engraved with "Eilean" and the year "1936" on the caseback, referencing the same year the first prototypes of the Radiomir were created for Italian frogmen. As part of the Experience Programme, the watch includes an invitation to explore Sicily’s cultural heritage, featuring a cruise on the Eilean.
